Ceramics

Jonathan's ceramic artwork has received numerous awards and can be found in public collections and museums around the world, including in Britain, the U.S.A, Europe, and the Far East. Jon began his career making functional ware between 1972 - 1977, during which time he studied the techniques of other artists in his local area of Devon. In 1979, he was invited to exhibit his work at Exeter University and created the first exhibition based on his visualizations of the Tree of Life - a theme he continued to explore throughout his career.

From 1979 - 1989, Jon exhibited extensively in the UK, which led to exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New Mexico. Between 1990 - 2001, much of his work was exhibited in Europe, particularly in Germany, and it also made its way to the Middle East, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand.

Throughout his career, Jonathan continued to develop themed installations and designed functional ware that reflected his artistic vision and skill. We invite you to explore his stunning collection of ceramics and experience the enduring legacy of Jonathan Middlemiss's work.
