Wild Intelligence  is about our symbiotic relationship with nature.  At a time of the Great Turning (Joanna Macy), the environmental revolution and the critical relationship between human life and the survival of the planet, we are realizing that we and nature are one... and that whatever we do to her we do to ourselves.
So now there is a need to restore our connection to her through direct experience and engagement. It is time to respond to her as guardian, wise teacher, spiritual leader and healer instead of some sort of objective phenomenon to be controlled, tamed and contained.

Wild Intelligence creative courses aim to assist that engagement and encourage new ways we can learn from nature.

Jonathan Middlemiss is a professional workshop facilitator and artist. He creates workshops in different media  from clay work and painting to land art and movement.

"After several years of not making pottery and working on outdoor projects, I developed exercises to expand our awareness of the natural environment. Some are about how we can change our normal perceptions of 'reality', offering playful engagement through imagination and the senses. Some encourage the conscious choice to engage with ‘not knowing’ and letting go of associations."

Courses and workshops take place in natural environments. Some are short experiences of two hours, half or full days. Some are longer.

"Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."   Native American

"The easiest way to experience a bit of what the wild was like is to go into a great forest at night alone.  Sit quietly for awhile.  Something very old will return." Jack Turner

Wild Intelligence courses

Courses in creativity for a wide range of different applications. Over the last ten years I have used sensory development in natural environments for the use of school art programmes, to private individuals, in college courses and elsewhere.
